Human Design · Applied to Work

Generic business advice assumes one nervous system. Yours is not average.

Human Design for work, leadership, and income — the authentic mechanics, applied to the business you already run.

Every productivity system, sales method, and leadership framework was written for a general case that does not exist. Your chart says how you are built to decide, where your energy is actually sustainable, and which work will keep costing you more than it returns. This site applies that. It does not teach it.

Booked online, no call required. 273 applied articles below, free.

Your chart is calculated, not interpreted. Same birth data, same result, every time — which is the only reason it is worth running a business on.

Fit

Who this is for

This is for you if

  • You run something, or you are senior enough in it that your decisions cost money
  • You already earn from your work and want it to cost you less to produce
  • You are a coach or consultant with clients, building a practice that has to pay
  • You have a co-founder, a partner, or a team whose dynamics you cannot explain
  • You have read enough Human Design to want it applied, not explained again

This is not for you if

  • You are new to Human Design and want to learn the system properly — that is the school
  • You want a certification or the Analyst pathway — also the school
  • You want daily transit readings or a chatbot to ask — those live on the other two sites
  • You are looking for free general advice rather than a read on your specific chart

  • Enough to decide whether to go further, without having spoken to anyone
Most popular

Career Design Consultation · Level 1

$497

A personal analysis of your chart, prepared for you — the first of three levels.

  • A clear read on the work you are built for, and the conditions you need to do it well
  • Your own decision-making strategy, described precisely enough to test this week
  • Something to return to — this is a recording and a written presentation, not a call you half remember
New

The Working Experiment

$3,997

Four sessions across eight weeks, with your profit centers mapped.

  • Your design applied to the work you are actually doing, tested over eight weeks rather than explained once
  • A read on where your income is genuinely designed to come from — usually not where you assumed
  • Decisions made from your own authority, with someone to check them against between sessions

The Career Design Consultation runs three levels, taken in order, covering all sixteen Success Codes between them. Level 1 is where everyone starts. See Levels 2 and 3.

Mechanics

What changes at work, by Career Type

Five ways of being built to produce value, and what each one should actually do differently on Monday. These are the BG5 Career Type names — the business register of the same mechanics — with the Human Design name underneath each one. Population figures are Jovian Archive's, from close to fifty million charts.

Classic Builder

Generator

~35% of people

Open and enveloping · sustainable work energy

The work energy is real, but it only turns on in response.

Builders are the only Career Types carrying genuinely sustainable work energy — Classic and Express Builders both. The catch is that it responds; it does not start. Work chosen by the mind, because it looked strategic on paper, never gets the body behind it, and the Builder ends up doing the right job with the wrong engine. The practical change is upstream of effort: put yourself where offers, requests, and problems come to you, then let the response decide. A Classic Builder is here to go through a step-by-step process, and Builders who work this way stop needing discipline to sustain work they are actually built for.

When it goes wrong: Forcing — long hours on work that never gains momentum.

Express Builder

Manifesting Generator

~35% of people

Open and enveloping · response with a direct route to action

Speed is not impatience. Skipping steps is the design working.

The same sustainable work energy as a Classic Builder, with a direct route into action — so response converts to movement without the pause. In practice that means starting fast, dropping what stops generating a response, and reaching the end by a shorter path than the one in the process document. Organizations read this as inconsistency and try to correct it, which is the single most expensive misreading of this Career Type. The correction that actually works is informing: say what you are changing before you change it, and the resistance largely disappears. Multiple concurrent projects are normal here, not a focus problem.

When it goes wrong: Rework — and a reputation for not finishing.

Initiator

Manifestor

~9% of people

Closed and repelling · you land before you speak

Built to start things, not to sustain them — and not to ask first.

Initiators start. There is no waiting on anything external, and no sustainable work energy either: it comes in bursts and then genuinely needs to stop. The Personal Interaction Style is closed, which is why Initiators get read as difficult before they have said anything. Informing is the whole strategy — not permission, not consensus, just telling the people your action will hit before it hits them. Initiators are not here to ask questions; they are here to inform, and to be kept informed in return. They are also not designed for groups, even the ones holding group Strengths. Initiators who inform get initiatives through. Initiators who do not spend their careers meeting resistance they cannot account for.

When it goes wrong: Initiatives blocked late, by people who felt blindsided.

Advisor

Projector

~20% of people

Focused and absorbing · no sustainable work energy

The output is seeing the system, and it cannot be scheduled like labor.

An Advisor running a Builder's calendar is depleting capital, not spending income — there is no sustainable work energy here. The focused Personal Interaction Style reads other people deeply, which is why the actual product is insight into how someone or something should be run. That insight lands when it was invited and is rejected when it was not, which is a mechanical fact about the interaction style rather than a rule about politeness. Advisors are also the Career Type most dependent on the right partner: success runs through having the right energetic resources to work with and guide. Practically — fewer working hours, priced on value rather than time, and energy spent on recognition and positioning instead of on volume.

When it goes wrong: Expertise given away unasked, and unpaid.

Evaluator

Reflector

~1% of people

Resistant and sampling · no defined Functions at all

The environment is not a preference. It is the primary variable.

With nothing defined, an Evaluator samples what is in the room — which makes them an unusually accurate read on the health of a team, and makes the wrong room genuinely costly. Evaluators are seen for objectivity precisely because no Strength of their own clouds the viewpoint, and they are built to sit at the hub, at the center of the organization they are part of. There is no reliable inner process to consult in the moment; clarity arrives over about a month, by talking the decision through with trusted people over time. Any workplace that demands an answer in the meeting is asking for a guess. Place an Evaluator well and they will tell you things about your organization no dashboard will.

When it goes wrong: Decisions made under pressure, in the wrong room.

Each Type has its own page, under the BG5 name a business conversation can use: the five Career Types at work.

What the work is aimed at

Three things that change

Decision speed

Most executives have never been told how their own decisions resolve. Solar Plexus authority alone means roughly half of people cannot give a sound answer inside the meeting — knowing which half you are in changes how you run the calendar.

Role clarity

The job you are good at and the job your design sustains are not always the same one. This is the work of naming the difference and then doing something about it, rather than assuming the drain was a discipline problem.

Partnership mechanics

Two people, two charts, and a set of connections that were always going to produce exactly this friction. Partnership analysis puts the pattern on paper before it costs you the business.
